The Lagos Metrorail Monorail System is our current elevated monorail project . We are starting with a 12km section linking Marina to Yaba via Nnamdi Azikwe Street and Muritala Mohammed Way. It would run through highly dense areas along this corridor with major Station/transit hubs at CMS Bus Stop, Nnamdi Tinubu, Iddo, Oyingbo, Ebute Metta and Tejuosho. We shall be deploying the Alweg Monorail system, which has been in use since 1959 in many countries worldwide such as, USA, Malaysia, Dubai and is currently being deployed in Saudi Arabia and Brazil by our technical partners Bombardier Inc.
In collaboration with Bombardier Inc, Lamoreaux Group, Urbanaut Monorail Company, the Hamni Parson Consortium, our combined expertise spans over 800 projects worldwide. This expertise we shall deploy to Lagos Nigeria to solve our urban development needs.
MetroRail is a limited liability company incorporated in 2008 under the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with RC No 784602. The scope of the company’s operations covers infrastructure construction to wit: elevated rail systems, metropolitan railways, highways and municipal road network, tunnel design and construction, bridge construction, water distribution and biomass power supply facility, telecommunications, industrial and civil construction, and other related municipal projects.
Other services provided include: civil engineering, project management, survey and design consultancy; manufacturing; real estate development; capital investment and logistics operations; administrative support, training and document control.
We have since inception researched into the form, components, capabilities and advantages of over 37 different mass transit systems worldwide. Our focus being on the need to solve the transportation problems in Lgos. With a vision to deploy the best suited technologies required for mass transit in Lagos, MetroRail has formed a consortium made of monorail experts, engineers, architects, surveyors and financiers to ensure the immediate deployment of an ultra-modern mass transit system for Lagos State.
MetroRail also offers services to project companies set up and managed by governmental and non-governmental entities. We promote capital operations with these entities utilizing the best suited investment/operation option available such as:
We further empower people through our specialized series of training courses, workshops and seminars aimed at introducing innovative inventions for the general improvement of living standards.
Our aim is ultimately to provide a viable option of mass transit for the people of Lagos State. Though there already exist various modes of transport in operation within Lagos e.g. the Bus Rapid Transport System, mini-buses, taxis, trains, and most unfortunately tricycles and motorcycles, which intermingles with private automobiles and trucks, these systems are not sufficient to transport the volume of people traveling within the State. Yet, the State’s on-going strategic deployment of the Okokomaiko-Marina Blue Line, a Light Rail System, is a further move to reduce congestion on our roads.
However, while most of the above mentioned modes of transit operate efficiently in other cities worldwide, this is not the case in Lagos, which has over 19 million people within a small land area of approximately 356,861 hectares, comprising of 75,755 hectares are wetlands. Also, in these other countries there may exist a mix of modes of mass transit like in London that has the Underground Train Systems, basic ground rail systems and double decker buses all operating efficiently within the city.
We believe that optimal service is dynamic and changes with time and trend. Our policy is to ensure we meet up with the unique changes of our environment and provide the best service to our clients at all times Nullam quis risus eget urna mollis ornare vel eu leo.
